PMI's executive-level credential for professionals who manage portfolios — ensuring every program and project aligns with long-term organizational strategy.
Portfolio managers and directors · senior PMO and EPMO leaders · Chief Transformation / Strategy Officers responsible for initiative portfolios · executives accountable for aligning delivery to strategy.
The PfMP® sits at the top of PMI's delivery hierarchy: above projects (PMP), above programs (PgMP), at the portfolio level where the question isn't "are we delivering this right?" but "are we delivering the right things?" It's an executive credential, and like PgMP it involves a panel review of substantial experience alongside the examination. This programme prepares senior professionals for the full pathway.
PMI requires a secondary degree plus a minimum of 96 months (8 years) of professional business experience within the last 15 years, alongside substantial portfolio management experience, across three eligibility sets by education level.
Requirements are set by the awarding body, not by Paraklete Institute. We review your circumstances before you commit.
PfMP eligibility is set by PMI across three routes and the thresholds are substantial. Book an Advisor Clarity Call and we'll assess your portfolio experience against PMI's current requirements together.
Process note: like PgMP, PfMP includes application → panel review → examination. Plan a longer timeline.
